Cyprus National Championships 2023: May 6th, 2023

23 – 28 January 2023: ISU European Championships

For the third time in the history of Cyprus ice skating, an athlete of the Cyprus Skating Federation participates in the European championships. The athlete Marilena Kitromili, after an excellent performance at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships , which was held in Espoo/Finland from January 23-28 , not only managed to qualify for the final (Free Skating), but also to conquer the honorable 13th place in the final ranking.

Note that after Short Program was on the 18th place with score 53.71. After an amazing performance in the Free Program, setting an Personal Record with a score of 105.20, and with overall score 158.91 achieved the 13th place, which is the biggest success of the Cyprus Skating Federation at the highest level of ISU competitions. In addition, Marilena’s excellent gave her the a place at the Gala Exhibition, which is a program-show that is presented after the competition by the high level athletesof the competition.

The athlete’s effort was also honored by the presence of the Ambssador of Cyprus in finland, Mr Demetres Samuel and apparently his presence strengthened the athlete’s effort.

Marilena Kitromili has won the third place in the international competition Latvian Trophy 2022 and also, it is worth noting, the her 1st place in Challenger Serires level competitions in the 2021, ISU CS Autumn Classic International competition, which was held in Quebec, Canada from September 16-18, 2021. Marilena is preparing for the world championships, that will be held in Saitama, Japan from March 20-26, 2023.

 

24 – 30 July 2022: 16ο European Youth Olympic Festival

Cyprus Olympic Committee participated in 16th European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), which was held at Banská Bystrica / Slovakia from July 24 – 30, 20222500 athletes from 48 of the 50 countries that consist the European Olympic Committee took part in the games. The Cyprus Olympic Committee was represented by 27 athletes in seven sports. The athlete of the Cyprus Skating Federation, Daniella Vanessa Ypsaridou also participated with the Team as Young Ambassador.


June 6th – 10th, 2022: 58th ISU Ordinary Congress 2022

The 58th ISU Ordinary Congress was held in Phuket, Thailand from 6 – 10 June 2022. The congress makes important decisions about the policies and future the International Skating Union (ISU). At the Congress, nearly 250 proposals will be debated and voted on. In addition, elections were held for the Board of the ISU Council. Jae Youl Kim with 77 votes was elected as the President of the ISU.


April 14th, 2022: Cyprus Olympic Committee Awards 2021

On April 14, 2022, at the Olympic Palace, was held the Award Ceremony of the τop youth boys and girls 2021 – “From the Base to the Top”. Athletes from 37 sports federations were awarded at this awarding ceremony. At this event, the athlete of the Cyprus Skating Federation Marilena Kitromili was also awarded for her outstanding performance for the year 2021.

14th February 2022: 1st Place- Jegvirag Cup

The athletes Angelina Kudryavtseva and Ilia Karankevich achieved to win the 3rd place in the competition Jegvirag Cup in the category Junior Ice Dance, which was held at Miskolc/Hungary between 11-13 of February 2022. this is one of the biggest succeses of the Cyprus Skating Federation and is the result of their great sport condition.


29 November 2021: Annua l General Meeting

Dear Members of the Cyprus Skating Federation,

We would like to inform you that on the Wednesday, 29/12/2021, time 18:00 will be held online, through Zoom,the Annual General Meeting of the Cyprus Skating Federation.

Each Club-Member can participate with two representatives.

Subjects of the Agenda:

  • Ratification of the Minutes of the 2020’s AGM (29/12/2020).
  • Discussion of the matters of the club «amathusia» (attached related letter)
  • Activities Report by the Chairman of the Federation’s Coucil.
  • Treasurer’s report for the year 2020
  • Ratification of the Annual Financial Report 2019
  • Amendments of articles of the Federation’s Statute

Deadline for other, than the above matters, is 14/12/2021 (by email).

29th September – 2nd October 2021: 3rd place – ISU JGP Gdansk/POL

The athletes Angelina Kudryavtseva and Ilia Karankevich achieved to win the 3rd place in the competition ISU Junior Grand Prix in the category Junior Ice Dance, wich was held in Gdansk/Poland from the 29th September – 2nd October 2021. This is the biggest success of the Cyprus Skating Federation and we express our warm congratulations to the athletes.


22th – 28th March 2021: ISU World Championships Stockholm/Sweden

The athlete Emilea Zingas has succeeded in getting the qualification and has participated in the ISU World Championships in the Women in Singles, which was held in Stockholm/Sweden between the 22nd – 28th March 2021. This is a great success of the Cyprus Skating Federation and we express our warm congratulations to the athlete. Also, this competition was a qualifying competition for the 2022 Olympic Games, but unfortunately the athlete did not get the coveted qualification.


27th of July 2020: Cyprus National Championships 2020

Dear friends of figure skating,

We would like to inform you that the Cyprus National Championships, which would take place from 02nd – 03rd of May 2020 and were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are likely to take place in the autumn, at dates to be announced later.

It is pointed out that the decision for organizing the Championships depends on the epidemiological data and the relevant announcements of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus.

We hope that everything will go smoothly, and we wish everyone health!


02 – 08 March, 2020: ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships

Cypriot Skating Federation athletes Angelina Kundryavtseva and Ilia Karankevich participated in the World Junior Championships, that were held in Tallinn, Estonia from 02 – 08 March 2022. It is the first time that athletes of the Cyprus Skating Federation participate in such a high-level event. The athletes with an excellent performance achieved the 20th place with a Total Score of 127.97.


27th of January 2020: Applications for registration and transfer of athletes and coaches’ registration

Dear friends of figure skating,

According to the decisions of the Council dated 22/01/2020, for the convenience of the Clubs, the period of Registration-Transfers of athletes and the registrations of coaches is extended until 07/02/2020.

According to the decisions of the Council, the registrations and transfers of the athletes can be processed without the submission of the Health Card issued by the Cyprus Sports Organization. This will need to be presented to participate in the Cyprus National Championships.


08th January 2020: Cyprus National Championships 2020

Dear friends of figure skating,

According to the decisions of the Council dated 27/12/2020, the Cyprus National Championships 2020 will be held on Saturday and Sunday 2-3 May 2020.

More information about the Championships and the Announcement will be published on the official website of the Federation and will be communicated to the Clubs at a later stage.


16th of December 2019: Applications for registration and transfer of athletes

Dear friends of figure skating,

According to the decisions of the Council dated 03/12/2019, all athletes who are members of the Member Clubs of the Federation will have to re-register in the Federation in order to comply with the new legislation of the Republic of Cyprus.

For this purpose and for the convenience of the Clubs, the period of Registration-Transfers is extended until 31/01/2020.
The Associations are requested to take the necessary steps and complete the new registration and transfer forms, as the old forms have no validity.

It is emphasized that the registrations also concern the athletes, who are already registered in the Federation and who will have to re-register, but without any charge.

Those athletes who do not take this action, then are automatically deleted from the Register of the Federation and do not have the right to participate in any activity, which is organized by the Cyprus Skating Federation.


16th of December 2019: Applications for coaches’ registrations

Dear friends of figure skating,

According to the decisions of the Council dated 03/12/2019, all coaches who train athletes of the Member Clubs of the Federation must be registered in the Register of the Federation.

For this purpose and for the convenience of the Clubs, a Registration period is given until 31/01/2020.
The Clubs or the coaches are requested to take the necessary actions and to register their coaches, because otherwise they cannot be included in the Register of the Federation.

It is emphasized that those Clubs that do not take this action, then automatically their coaches do not have the right to participate in any activity, which is organized by the Cyprus Skating Federation and it is understood that the coach cannot be a member of any team representing Cyprus and such coach cannot participate in any activity of the Federation.
